About Andro

So who is Andromache (Andro for short, or Ἀνδρομάχη if you read Greek)? Well, she's a human mage (level 80, frostfire spec) on the European Steamwheedle Cartel server, part of the Shattered Ravens guild (who spent a year on Argent Dawn before relocating to Steamwheedle in the wake of the massive overcrowding and lag issues on AD back at the start of 2006). Andro wasn't actually my first Wow character - she came into being about a month after the start of live, that honor going to her associate Buliwyf, a Dwarven Paladin (prot spec, currently in his early 70s), who tends to snooze for long period - but she is the most active by far of my coterie .

Andro's name comes from the stories of the Trojan War - the Illiad in particular, though its cropped up in numerous retellings, most recently a trilogy by David Gemmel (which I only read about 2 years after Andro came into being). Buliwyf, on the other hand, is the spelling of Beowulf used on the film "13th Warrior"

Behind the character is a 40-something veteran gamer who's been playing WOW since since European beta. In addition to playing video and board games, I've been known to write material of paper RPGs and boardgames such as Dark Ages: Vampire, BattleTech and Heavy Gear.
